I asked Tom Fischer and that is what he told me. He went on to elaborate that the key, as he saw it, to "his" tone was rolling back on the bridge pup.

Hey, back up your claims and I may accept them. Links, man! Links! Uh huh. Evidence, man! Evidence! Not of the meeting, of the tone settings. Seriously though, there are always a bunch of factors in play. If Tom Fischer uses only scooped mids and gets a good tone from them, bully for him... I don't always care for that sound and only a few bands really pull it off.

Check the Triptykon boards for yourself.

Actually I asked him on the Triptykon boards and he very kindly responded to my inquiries. Also there is an interview vid he did where he discusses the recording sessions of both Apocalyptic Raids and Morbid Tales in detail.

When you find an interview with the recording engineer, then you might have some useful info on how an album sounds, which has shocking little to do with how a rig sounds. You've already said he used a mid boost pedal. The bit you are lacking is a basic understanding of how sound and hearing work. If you have no mids, you have no guitar tone, because guitar is a midrange instrument, and ears work in the midrange. How you manipulate the balance of mids and the sources of those frequencies is where all of the taste call goes.

On a similar note, I have been known to use a Dragonfly BM1 Black Metal pedal from time to time.

Horst Muller, the man who worked with Hellhammer and Celtic Frost to record Apocalyptic Raids and Morbid Tales is, I believe, now retired from the recording business. What you seem to lack an understanding of is 80s metal and how to achieve that sound.

I don't recall seeing you credited on any albums, let alone 80s ones.

Djent is nott metal, and has no place in a discussion of metal guitar tones. And it's a dumb sounding word and using it makes you sound like a complete fucknut.
