Pop off the coloured top and there is a nut underneath.

Thank you. I'll try that tonight when I'm at storage. Is there a specific way to pop off the colored top? Can't remember off the top of my head if I saw something that leads to that or not.

Blade down the edge if a fingernail won't do it. They tend to come off pretty easily, but because of that, some have been glued.

Thanks forbthe tip. Blade worked perfect. Popped them out of my '69 and placed them on my '68. Knobs needed no changing. I did however find out that MKIV color tops (just the color part) are a different size than MKIII tops. The extra set of MKIV knobs I have had too small of color tips to fit snug inside the MKIII knobs. So my '68 has two black for volume and four colors for EQ (I was trying to have them all be colors).

Picking up on this. The new SC cab I bought has Celestion G12-100's in it and sounds awesome. I think I'll have to get a quad of those for my other 4x12"...

Robbo - have a look at the Electro Voice speakers that HEX CABS is using. Might be right up yer alley.

Got a 120 and love it. It is pretty noisey for the first few minutes and then the noise dies down a little. I was thinking of getting some new preamp tubes. What should I get. I have heard that changing to fresh tubes that the noise will die down. Thanks!

The caps are what is doing the noise then dying down, although new pre valves might help too. Also a good clean up.
Might have some spare sound city smarty top knobs going if someone will give me sensible moneyfor them, unless someone wants to buy a whole PA head.
