missed everything up until 11pm on the Thursday (! not Friday) cos a fucking flight was delayed by 6 hours!!

Basically, Solace killed it. Personally I prefer Guitar Rock and so spent a lot more time in Clancy's this year. Twas great to meet so many olds and new friends ;)

Mono and Nadja blew my extremely stoned mind, Cathedral too but mainly because of the crazy zombie movies, I didn't pay much attention to the band actually

Other great performances:
Angel Witch
Borhen, I really loved the songs with the saxophone
Saint Vitus
Orange Goblin
Zeni Geva, way too short! or maybe I had just completely lost notion of time...
Guapo, although I could hardly resist laughing when they got on stage

Have returned and am totally destroyed. For now, amongst mysterious Dubin sightings, a million and one joints, an insanely fast record hauling right when the merch stalls opened (finally got the UT/Minsk split), more joints, dffd group sightings (I just spied on those), I can say that my personal highlights were Neurosis (TSIB basically), Tribes of Neurot (I can't even begin to describe that one), St Vitus (maybe a little too true to what they are and it seemed vintage in a slightly forced way, but still an epic experience), Wino (just ripped everything, def much better gig than Vitus), Church of Misery (absolutely perfect), Zeni Geva (sick, so happy I got to see them live), Earth (a totally different band to what I had seen in '03, but this stuff fits them well), Minsk (they pushed their psychedelic edge and it worked)...and plenty more of the bands I saw were quite killer too (Negura Bunget, Bohren, Grails, Dyse, Young Gods, Skullflower, Motorpsycho, Grey Daturas). I think '09 was better than '08 for sure.

Vitus was awesome, but I probably could have been more cautious around all the alcohol and weed 'cause I can't remember the whole gig. Sucks! Anywho.. Church Of Misery was a huge energy boost. Fantastic and intense as hell! I wouldn't mind having them on the line-up each year.

Loads of other bands to mention, but US Christmas really took me by surprise. Loved it! Also Solace and Wino finished of the whole festival brilliantly.

All in all I had an absolutely great time, and wanna say cheers to those of you I met! Hope to see you again next year.

I can't believe some of the comments here. Saint Vitus and Angel Witch were pretty much highlights of my life. Amon Duul II were unbelievably good as well.

Is it available elsewhere for the non-facebookers ? :?

Curious to hear it again.

Is on Youtube. The bit where Black Sun joined i was immense, but thought Eugene's chat beforehand was total guff.
