My eyes happened to catch this tape sitting in my collection. I must say I'm surprised at how much I still love this album, for awhile during the 90's I couldn't stand thrash, especially thrash with higher pitched vocals. I'll take these guys over Testament any day.

Two other timeless thrash albums for me are Kreator's "Pleasure to Kill" and of friggin' course the epic "Kill 'em all".

My girlfriend loves bands like The Butthole Surfers, Sleep, Floor, Torche, and The Melvins but she can't stand it when I start getting all 1980's, so I'm on a roll tonight seeing that she's out of the house right now and I've had more than a few india pale ales in my gullet.

one of my favorite thrash records ever.

i never understood the hate against the vocals. they only made me wanna check out the band more after hearing "serial killer", i thought the vocals were totally insane.

crazy fucking lyrics too. real thought out and complex

Same!
i always come out of it with a ton of awesome bands to check out, thanks to all of you guys giving me lessons. :D
it's become one of the highlights of my week.
(hopefully thats more praise for the show rather than condemnation of my social life)

I used to trade tapes with Phil Demmel from Vio-Lence around 1987/88 and got the demo and a promo of the first album from him. I eBay'd them both plus a load of letters with the Vio-Lence letterhead and rubber stamp (the logo against the brick wall) to some Swede a few years ago for about £90

I don't think I ever heard the 2nd or 3rd Vio-Lence albums. I liked Eternal Nightmare but I'm pretty nonplussed by that kind of thrash metal these days, still - better than Machine Head eh?

Listened a few years later and sold it to a Machine Head buff on eBay for a few quid hahaha.

Yeah, silly is a good way to put it. When I first heard the album I was turned off by how ridiculous the vocals sounded. But after a few listens the music hooked me, I accepted the vocals and bought the album. It's gud.

Brilliant album, furious stuff. My mate can't stand the vocals either and uses that as an excuse to ignore it, which I can't understand because it is total banging.
