I'm interested in digging into psychedelic and spaced out jazz. Can you folks recommend some albums. Also what albums should I start with for Sun Ra?

Might get hit with not really jazz, but stick with it. The whole album is a very underrated HH.

One of my favourite albums.

How about Pharoah Sanders "Karma"?

If you're after a Sun Ra album you could do a lot worse than going for the very latest release:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/MARSHALL-ALLEN- ... rbit+of+ra

Apparently this is the first ever compilation of Sun Ra material and covers all periods of his career.

It's also available as a double vinyl album and it comes with the double CD included. The vinyl appears to be quite difficult to get even though it's only been out about three weeks.

Oh, and it's absolutely spellblindingly brilliant, by the way.

That Greatest Hits compilation I got about ten years ago must not really exist so.
