yeah, it's got all original Fender Utah speakers, which seem to be what the ones I usually see going for $300-400 are loaded with. These guys didn't seem to care about the speakers though, they just asked if they were original, didn't even take off the grill to check them out. If they'd put more effort into the appraisal, I'd be less irked anyway.

Not even sure the Fender label means anything to the speakers, they stuck Fender badges on whoever supplied them the cheapest batch. JBL and EV would be the ones to look out for, for bass purposes at least, can probably recognise them by the build, not massively my area because I prefer speakers that have a known spec.

the thing is, almost every cab like this, from this era, contains Utah speakers. So basically what I'm saying is a: these dudes put no effort into appraising the actual value of the cab and b: that cab listed on the Guitar Center website probably has the exact same speakers in it, and if it doesn't they certainly aren't saying it. Again, I spent a while looking into the prices these cabs get before I tried to sell mine and I checked every inch of my particular cab so that I knew its exact condition and could make a decent estimate of its value against other prices I saw online (my only available resource), and then decided on an asking price at the low/just below end of the spectrum. I didn't go into it blind, I'm annoyed because the Guitar Center guys were either trying to play me off for a chump, or they just didn't give enough of a fuck to actually check the damn thing out in any depth.

too bad. that's a hell of a deal.
and stop thinking about volume in terms of watts! the 200s puts out 80w with kt88's - bang that into two efficient 4x12" boxes and no fucker will say you're not loud.
watts doesn't equal decibels. my 50w Marshall plexi clone BURIES my 100w Laney with the same cabinets.

Arrgghhh! I might have to sell my lovely Sunn 200S. Just got an email from a friend out of the blue who is selling an '72 Orange "pix only" Slave amp after not hearing back for nearly 6 months. I assumed it was off the market. After all the wheeling and dealing lately I'm broke so something's gotta give. Might be the Sunn that gives

I got two Roland Expansion Cards for the U110. I got SN-U110-02 Latin and FX Percussion and SN-U110-05 Orchestral Strings. If you want 'em pm me. Trade would be best. I can always use distortion pedals, no matter how crappy Or trade for music is good too!

got offered a '59 reissue fender bassman 4x10 combo for my egnater tourmaster 4212 combo. dude lives out there, so if i decide to trade we'd end up meeting half way, meaning we wouldnt really be able to test before we trade. so im wondering if it is good trade? price wise i know it is fair, but ive never played any bassman so im not exactly sure how they sound?

Can you meet somewhere you can test? Like a guitar shop where you want to try out their guitars to see how they sound into 'your amp'.

As a Guitar Center employee, I can add a bit of insight. It is policy to not offer any quote until Vintage gets photos, and trust me, Vintage varies from day to day on whether or not they get you a good price. I've seen them offer a guy 400 for a JCM 800, and I was the one who had to talk him down when he got offended as he should have. On a side note, Fender did make some 2x12s that are as big as a 4x12 in a silver face like that. I'm sorry the guys made you feel cheated. It pisses me off to know end when there are assholes in other stores because it makes the rest of us look like jerks.
