Any opinions on the differences between these tubes? I'll be needing to retube my Sound City B150 one day and was curious if anyone has used a KT90 or a KT99 (or even a KT100) for bass. I have no interest in 6550's. I've heard KT90's produce the best bottom end out of the three in audio tube amps but didn't know if the same results would translate into the bass amp realm as well.

Oh and fitting four of these big bottled tubes shouldn't be an issue with the SC by the looks of the chassis.

Don't those run funny current draw or something? Not sure you can just hot swap them, although it might only be one of them. I don't actually know at all, someone will. Why not KT88s, they are lovely for bass.

really good 6550's are fantastic BUT KT88's are another realm for bass. only $3 different per pair through Eurotubes although I guess you're after a quad. I honestly wouldn't mess with the other two types just because they are not as readily available (although I always keep spares around)
